Sažetak
The purpose of the paper is to analyze hedge funds offered on the Polish market. The author analyzed conditions of investing in these funds and compared their rates of return since the beginning of their existence up to the end of December 2007 or in some cases, (where data were available) to January 2008. It was proved that their rates of return are different for various funds, but all are low correlated with the most popular world stock indexes S&P500 and DAX. The conducted analysis showed that hedge funds offered on the Polish market have characteristic features similar to those presented in the recent literature and generally considered typical for hedge funds.
