Sažetak
Design for a certain fatigue life is in the same time tolerant design. Fatigue strength for a certain fatigue life of the arbistressed preloaded parts is determined, and a unique and explicit formula for determining the fatigue life in such conditions is presented. The procedure is presented that enables designer to determine the state of stresses which will, for the known stress history, preload stress and designed fatigue life, make impossible the crack initiation and propagation, or, if the crack already exists, make impossible its propagation. For the combined LCF/HCF loading, the procedure is explained, which enables determining the regions in the plane of Smith diagram in which the designing is damage tolerant.
