Sažetak
In order to examine the mechanisms by which inflammatory cells can be cleared from the brain lesions in coronavirus-induced encephalomyelitis, immunohistochemical techniques and in situ tailing were performed. Degenerating cells visualized by this tehnique were observed throughout the disease with maximum value in the last stage of disease. On average 42% of all apoptotic cells could be identified by immunocytochemistry as T lymphocytes. Morphological features reminiscent of apoptosis were not found in macrophages.
