Sažetak
The paper describes an adaptive article of clothing which can change its thermal insulation by regulated heat conduction so that it can adapt optimum microclimatic conditions in its inside within a wide temperature range. It is accomplished in a new manner by activating thermoinsulating chambers with variable thickness into which compressed air is inflated, whereby the chambers continuously change their thickness in accordance with an increase in air pressure inside them, enhancing thermal insulation properties of the chambers because the resistance to heat conduction increases due to an increased air layer. This preserves the body temperature of the wearer of this kind of garment to an increased extent. The article of clothing incorporates a sensor system for measuring thermodynamic states in the environment and its inside, a microcontroller and actuator system.
