Sažetak
The goal of this paper is to present a 5-year epidemiological analysis of patients treated for migraine in the Department of Neurology and auxiliary policlinic in Rijeka. The diagnosis of migraine was established in accordance with HIS criteria. We used a specially structured questionnaire, which yielded the following results. From a total of 910 subjects, 71% were woman and 29% were man. Migraine with aura was present in 46% and migraine without aura in 54% of subjects. The first migraine attack began between the age of 14 and 17 with 44% of subjects. The frequency of migraine attack in one to three times per month in 75% of subjects. Risk factors were present in 71% with stress heading the list in 67% of subjects. Family history with migraine was present in 69% of those interviewed. This represents the first epidemiological research into migraine in Croatia and encompasses, for the moment, only clinically diagnosed migraine in Rijeka, Croatia. The preliminary results obtained are compatible with those from the literature.
