Sažetak
Recent scientific research have continued to assume that aircraft may contribute to the adverse chemical changes in the global atmosphere, especially regarding ozone (O3) depletion as well as in possible changes in climate. However, there is substantial uncertainty regarding the real global impact of aircraft emissions, and governments and other organisations worldwide grant funds for such research. The paper deals with the emission of subsonic and supersonic aircraft, with special reference to the impact of SST aircraft on the upper layers of atmosphere that may be harmed by aircraft operation.
