Sažetak
This paper deals with the bearing behavior of the end-notched, glulam low curved beam. In particular, the bearing capacity of the notch was analyzed regarding the occurrence of tension stresses perpendicular to grain at the notch corner which might endanger the resistance of the beam. The possibilities are revealed for determining the occurrence of transverse tension at the notch and the range of shear stresses. Fine net of finite elements is recommended in the area of the beam notch close to the support. There is a good correspondence between the calculation of the transversal tensile force according to the equation by means of method adopted by Euronorm with those obtained by a computer processing.
