Sažetak
This research work was carried out on the sample group of 129 males, 21 years of age, studying for maritime careers (navigation, marine engineering and marine telecommunications). The evaluation of specific motor abilities was made by a battery of tests which had a predictive character. The evaluation of working tasks in saving life at sea is carried by the means of foreseeable actions during thoraces of saving life at sea. The obtained results have been treated by the application of the Multiple Regression Analysis. The obtained results indicate that the working tasks of saving life at sea, and salvage as such, depend upon specific motor abilities and that the specific motor abilities exert considerable influence upon technique of saving life at sea. The prediction of technical actions (techniques) for saving life at sea on the basis of applied system of specific motor ability variables is considerable. With it, the variable system of the predictor exhausts 63 % of common variability, which can be explained by the influence of specific motor abilities. The greatest contribution has been given by the specific motor ability variables swimming 50 m, diving - in time and length, climbing and going down a ladder, a rope or stairs. The fundamental reason for the obtained dependability between specific motor abilities and saving life at sea is the congruence of biomechanical structures of the treated factors, the functional mechanisms.
