Sažetak
The subject of this paper is the development of Croatian politics and the idea of it's independence in time of the Bulgarian independence in 1908. This development is the result of several factors covering internal and external forces. Some of the last were European influences, including the Bulgarian example. At the same time the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina erupted with strong consequences. In this context one part of the Croatian politics claimed that Bosnia and Herzegovina belonged within the sphere of the Croatian state right, while the other part formulated the idea of Yugoslavism as a solution to disolve disputes among the Croats, Serbs, and Moslems. The first part was pragmatic because it tried to establish full-fledged autonomy within the Habsburg Monarchy, whereas the followers of the Yugoslav idea tended to create a new state through a process of the Monarchy's dissolution.
