Sažetak
The sample of participants consisted of 162 male fifth-graders from the "Zamet" Primary School in Rijeka, Croatia. The system of 36 measures (18 morphological characteristics and 18 motor abilities)was applied to examine them in order to detrmine the structure of taxonomic dimensions by employing the TAXONOM programme and then to affiliate an each entity (pupil) to the isoalted taxonomic dimension, with the final objective to orient children to sporting activities which are most appropriate for them. The obtained results showed that out of the total sample (N=162) of examines boys, only the 63 boys, who were positioned at the negative polar taxon of the first (24), the positive pole of the second (8), and the negative pole of the third (31) taxonomic dimension, met the orientation and selection criteria for particular sporting activities by pertaining to one of the 6 isolated taxonomic latent dimensions, which had the total of 68% of common variance.
