Sažetak
In the framework of the PELMON Project, monitoring of pelagic fish stock was performed during twenty days in September 2007 by research vessel Bios in the Croatian territorial water and Exclusive economic zone. Cruise was done in transects organized as square like profiles with 10Nm distance among them. Fish stock measured by special type of fish finder echo sounder and in addition some other oceanographic parameters. Distance between stations along transect was selected from one to twelve and half nautical miles. As pelagic fish migrate relatively fast in compare with bottom fish population, special attention needed to pay in data processing and analysis. Therefore, GIS tools with addition of kriging geospatial objective method were useful tools for investigation assessment of spatial distribution of pelagic fish stock population. It was found that distance among stations along measuring transects could significant influences in quality and precision of reconstructed spatial distribution of fish population.
