In this article was discribed floodplain phenomenon, dynamic changes in sites and forest cover in floodplain regions, primary succesion of soft-wood floodplain, floodplain forest communities and their classification, floodplain forests of the temperate zone of Europe, forest vegetation of floodplain areas in the south-eastern part of Central Europa and changes in floodplain forest communities due to human activities.
