Sažetak
Destination attractiveness is widely recognized as one of the most important determinants of the destination competitiveness. Global tourism market is becoming fiercely competitive environment and destinations are under extreme pressure to enhance their attractiveness in order to remain competitive. This article deals with the relation between destination attractiveness and destination competitiveness. It has two main goals. First goal of the paper is to advance existing body of knowledge from the field of destination attractiveness. Second goal was to construct and empirically test the application of IDA index, a managerial tool which could be used for quantitative description of destination attractiveness. Article also presents worked example of IDA index calculation for Croatia and Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
