Sažetak
My paper is aimed to highlight the procedures that the writer Alberto Savinio used in creating his unique autobiographical discourse in Italian and European literature. Besides the French surrealists, his models were the works of writers and philosophers like Petrarca, Bruno, Vico, Nietzsche, Weininger, and Freud. Instead of writing a classical autobiography he scattered fragments of his auto-ironic autobiography where “ I” is at the same time the protagonist and the antagonist: a man sensitive to pain and smell, with a tendency towards depersonalization, visions, and explaining typing lapses. He was born as Andrea De Chirico, a younger brother of Giorgio de Chirico. After finishing his music studies as a twelve-year-old boy he goes through a phase of strong intimacy with his brother and his work and then he rejects the stiffness of the imposed name and continues to work and to live under the name of Alberto Savinio. His geography starts in Athena and includes Munich, Paris, Rome and the Balkans.
