Sažetak
In order to define the real values of the wind load in the Croatian coastal belt for Bora, an exceptionally strong, catabatic, local wind, the wind velocities and directions were recorded at the „ Tugare“ and „ Zahod“ locations for the period 12.03.2007 – 02.05.2007. The performed analysis represents a continuation of long-standing research on the wind action upon structures along the eastern Adriatic coast in order to determine the design values as a basis for new Croatian norms. The measurements were used to determine the actual exposure factors on a „ typical“ terrain of the Adriatic Sea coast which confirms earlier research results and undoubtedly point to the necessity of increasing the exposure factor ce (z) in accordance with European norms EN 1991-2-4:2004, recommendations for the case of the Bora action. In addition, this paper presents the results of the analysis of the structure of the velocity spectrum at several locations in order to form a basis for the formation of the final proposal of the design Bora spectrum. Finally the paper introduces some guidelines for the prospective basis determination of the design load in the coastal belt of the Republic of Croatia with special emphasis on the zones with strong Bora wind.
