Sažetak
At the beginning Common Agricultural Policy was dealing mainly with agricultural structures, with limited territorial aspects. After Agenda 2000 and in following years CAP added new measures with the purpose, among others, to improve the quality of life in rural areas and encourage diversification of economic activity. Croatia also has some measures with the aim to help agricultural producers. Following this the purpose of the paper is to examine the role of vineyards, wine producers and other actors that have influence on rural development in particular area of Višnjan. The paper outlines some of the benefits of development of viticulture and other economic activities in rural development of the study area and the future possibilities and threats.
