Sažetak
As it is known, technology should be considered as support to business. In this abstract Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is appointed as support to travel and tourism. Since tourism is very information intensive industry the level of intersection between ICT and tourism grows up continuously. Application of new information and communication technologies impacts deep structural changes in tourism. These changes refer on nature and application of technology in business and have far-reaching implications for organizations (Tipurić and co authors, 1999) and societies. New information and communication technologies create new industries ; restructuring existing industries and radically changing the way organization compete. Although information technology is one of external environment elements for tourism in recent year’ s technological development have supported tourism innovation and vice versa. ICT and tourism developments are closely interrelated, so it is difficult to identify weather ICT generate or facilitate the changes in tourism demand and supply. ICT incorporate information, management and telecommunication systems to enable processing and flow of tourism information within and between organization and all equipment utilized for production of commodities and provision of services. For the travel and tourism industry the generation, gathering, processing, application and communication of information is most important for day-to-day operations.
