Sažetak
Background and purpose: In this paper all reference data of faunistic investigations of aphids and their host plants, that have been done in Croatia since 1927, are presented. The aim of this paper was to make complete checklist of host plants and their aphids, as an important crop pests, in Croatia. Material and methods: Whilst making the list of host plants and their aphids, all available reference data of faunistic investigation done in Croatia were used. The first data of aphid fauna were published in 1927 (32), since more than 50 papers have been published in Croatia. Results and conclusions: On a total of 192 hostplants a total of 191 aphid species were established. A total of 192 hostplants were placed in 40 orders and 60 families. The biggest number of host plants had the following aphid species: Aphis fabae, Myzus persicae, Macrosiphum euphorbiae, Aphis gossypii, Aphis craccivora, Aulacorthum solani, Acyrtosiphum pisum, Megoura viciae, Methopolophium dirhodum, Rhopalosiphum padi and Aphis pomi. Aphid species Aphis fabae was evidented on a total of 60 host plants, Myzus persicae on a total of 42 host plants, Macrosiphum euphorbiae on a total of 38 host plants, Aphis gossypii on a total of 33 host plants, A. craccivora and Aulacorthum solani on a total of 28 host plants, Acyrtosiphum pisum on a total of 16 host plants, Megoura viciae and Methopolophium dirhodum on a total of 15 host species, Rhopalosiphum padi on a total of 14 host plants and Aphis pomi on a total of 13 host plants. Mentioned aphid species are also the most important pests of crops on which they cause direct damages, by sucking on plants, but also indirect damages, by virus transmissing.
