Sažetak
Objective:Fracture healing is a complex physiological process. Multiple factors regulate this cascade of molecular reactions by affecting different sites in the osteoblast lineage through various processes such as migration, proliferation, chemotaxis, differentiation, inhibition and extracellular protein synthesis. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of autogenuous free omental graft on bone healing in created critical-size defects in rabbit radius. The influence of free omental graft has been evaluated by bone histomorphometry. Material and methods: The study was carried out on 18 male adult white New Zeland rabbits in same condition. Eighteen rabbits were divided into two groups. An 7 mm diameter critical-size defect was created in the radius of each animal in both A nad B groups. In group B defect was filled by piece of free omental graft ; a small piece of greater omentum obtained from a 2 cm mid-abdominal incision. Animals were euthanized 56 days after operation and the bones removed for histomorphometric studies. Histomorphometric analysis were performed. Results: Levence test for equal variance has shown that in the case of osteoblast interface ( Ob.S/BS) the samples had equal variance. Therefore, analysis has been performed on these samples( ANalysis Of Variance, ANOVA). Osteoblast interface has proved to be ststistically significant parameter ( p=0.005). A bigger osteoblast interface was found in the treated group with respect to the controlled one. The surface of trabecula covered with osteoid and osteoblast interface have shown a high degree of positive linear correlation both in the controlled and the treated group. Conclusion: Statistically significant osteoblast interface wakes to conclude that omental graft has influenced on bone turnover, especially on the formation of newly-created bone.
