Sažetak
In this paper changes in physical conditioning status of female handball players during the preparation period are described. The battery of nine tests, measuring basic motor abilities, was applied on the sample of 18 top-quality female handball players in order to determine changes in the indicators of the physical conditioning status inducted by the training process during the period of preparation from August 11 till September 22, 1998. The obtained differences between two measurement points were then analyzed by MANOVA. The results indicate there are statistically significant differences at the global level. The greatest changes occurred in variable repetitive power of trunk, alactic speed endurance, agility, lactic speed endurance and speed power of a sprint type. Just in the two variables out of the nine (arm and shoulder absolute power and leg explosive power of a horizontal jump ability) statistically significant changes were not registered.
