Sažetak
Commodities markets and their transactions influence economic trends on many levels. It is a particularly organized market in which a vast supply and demand of diverse goods is concentrated and where the average world prices of all commodities that comprise the market transactions are formed. In addition, the market enables the making of business deals that help protect the economy subjects from many risks of unexpected price jumps or falls, or minimize potential financial losses in their dealings. The role and significance of commodities markets, very important for the development of local and international trade and economy, are completely neglected in our country. The experiences so far imply that Croatian wood industry sector will not be able to remain isolated from involvement in international and regional commodities markets (sown wood, wood and forest products).
