Sažetak
In the standard flare/CME picture magnetic reconnection occurs in a current sheet formed behind the CME, which is indicative of a feedback relationship between both phenomena. We analyze two X-class flare/CME events which were well covered by RHESSI hard X-ray observations, and the early evolution of the CMEs could be observed in TRACE and GOES/SXI images. Since the flare hard X-rays are due to fast electrons, they provide the most direct indicator of the evolution of the energy release in the flare. This data set enables us to study in detail the relationship of the large-scale CME acceleration and the energy release in the associated flare.
