Sažetak
D.A. Kazhdan and S.J. Patterson conjectured an existence of a general correspondence between irreducible representations of general linear groups and irreducible representations of its metaplectic coverings, which satisfies certain character identity (Towards a generalized Shimura Correspondence", Advan. in Math. vol 60(1986) pages 161-234). We show in our paper that such correspondence in the case of complex general linear groups carries an irreducible unitary representations either to an irreducible unitary representation up to a sign, or to 0. Moreover, we get an explicit formula for the correspondence in this case.
