Sažetak
This Chapter addressed an important question of the relationship between the pension system in Croatia and the incentives it gives to older workers to stay in employment and postpone retirement. It argues that the 1999 pension reform with its tightened retirement condition resulted in increased age of the new pensioners and contributed strongly to increase in employment rates for older workers observed recently. Analysis of the pension system reform, review of labour and tax regulations related to retirement and simulations of pension benefits support the argument.
