Sažetak
The Old Bridge in Mostar was constructed in 1566 and destroyed on 9 November 1993 under still insufficiently clarified circumstances. The preparation for the reconstruction lasted for several years, and finally the realization of the restoration project was taken up in 2002. The reconstruction of the bridge and other structures on the site was completed in the first half of 2004. By the opening ceremony on 23 June 2004, the Old Bridge was again in its function. It was constructed of the very same types of materials as the original bridge. Also, the method of workmanship and fitting of individual components corresponds to the original state as much as it was possible to achieve. Some minor differences that inevitably exist, given the long time interval, will be emphasized and analyzed in this paper. It is important to stress that some important data and facts, which were unavailable before the reconstruction and which were subject to speculations for various reasons in the past, are presented here for the first time.
