Sažetak
Modern techniques of detailing in concrete and masonry structures are being used extensively in modern engineering. Cast in place systems and systems which are applied after concrete hardens are used very frequently. Forces are transmitted in material by mechanical (metal) fasteners, friction or combined. Basically, in relation to transfer mechanism of forces, fasteners depend upon a tensile strength of concrete or masonry. Numerous prefabricated connections are being used every day but knowledge about their behavior is very limited. There is also no method widely used and accepted. In this article short summary of guidlines for design of connections will be given. Design is based on limit state concept with partial factors and can be used for all loading directions and failure modes. Guidlines can be used for design of new structures as well as for rehabilitation and strenghtening of existing ones.
