Sažetak
The ability of clothing ensembles is to transport water vapour (sweat). This is an important determinant of physiological comfort. In some occasions, it is not possible to avoid sweat accumulation within the clothing ; thus it is preferable to remove sweat from the skin surface to the underwear surface or to fabric layers further away in the clothing ensemble. This is the reason why the underwear or any type of next-to-skin wear is an important sweat regulator. The investigation of sweat absorption and evaporation through the textile fabric was carried out using two types of knitted fabrics are used to produce next-to-skin clothing. The fabrics are single jersey made of 100% cotton and 100% polyester yarn. They differ only in the raw material composition. After knitting, the fabrics were used to make T-shirts and they were used for the following investigation. The main part of the experiment was carried out using test persons. During these investigations, a thermal camera was used. The camera detects infrared energy and converts it into an electronic signal which is processed to produce a thermal image and to perform the temperature estimations. Thus, it was possible to observe changes in the temperature intensity among the body parts and to correlate the changes to the areas of intensive sweating.
