Sažetak
Transition is the process that in early 1990’ s made it necessary to transform the entire economic system of the Republic of Croatia. Territorial reorganization of Croatia and its division into counties, and the transformation of ownership have brought about thorough changes in the economy, especially in construction industry. Together with significant changes in the proprietary relations, the transformation within the construction industry implies changes in the size and in the organizational structure of construction enterprises. A number of small medium and large enterprises with different organization and structure and with distinct financial results have emerged as carriers of construction activities on the territory of Croatia. Small and medium size enterprises, according to their business results, are the most vital segment and the foundation of Croatian construction industry.
