Sažetak
A simple, sensitive and inexpensive surfactant sensor based on 1, 3-didecyl-2-methyl-imidazolium-tetraphenylborate (DMI-TPB) as the sensing complex was used for end-point detection during potentiometric titration of anionic surfactants in industrial effluents. Low levels (down to 10-6 M) of anionic surfactants (dodecylbenzensulfonate and dodecylsulfate) were successfully titrated using 1, 3-didecyl-2-methylimidazolium chloride (DMIC) as a standard cationic titrant. The estimated detection limit was 0.03 mg/L using the titrant at a concentration of 0.1 mM. The sensor is used for determination of anionic surfactants in diluted industrial detergent products and industrial waste waters. The results obtained agree satisfactorily with the standard extraction-spectrophotometric MBAS method and are comparable with the results obtained using a commercially available surfactant electrode.
