Sažetak
The aim of this research was to determine the effect of Pronova Biocare Epax 3000 TG (PBE) marine oil rich in n-3 PUFA on the profile of fatty acids in egg yolks. Laying hens in the control group were fed commercial mixture, while the experimental group were fed diets which had PBE oil supplemented for 3.33% of corn. The experiment was performed on 56 9- month old ISA Brown laying hens (28 in the control and 28 in the experimental group). One cage housed four hens. The profile of fatty acids was determined on 10 eggs selected from each group. Content of linoleic (LA, C18:2n-6, P<0.05) and arachidonic (AA, C20:4n-6, P<0, 001) acid was higher in yolk lipids of the control group than in the experimental group. Yolks of experimental group exhibited higher portion of eicosapentaenoic (EPA, P<0.001), docosapentaenoic (DPA, P<0.01) and docosahexaenoic acids (DHA, P<0.001). Content of α -linolenic acid (LNA) in yolk lipids did not differ between investigated groups (P>0.01). Experimental group had smaller portion of n-6 PUFA than the control and difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Content of n-3 PUFA was considerably higher (P<0.001) in yolks of experimental group than in yolks of the control. Yolk lipids of the experimental group exhibited more favorable ratio of n-6/n-3 PUFA (7.25:1) (P<0.001) than the control (14.88:1). Supplementation of PBE resulted in significant change of fatty acid profile in yolk lipids, especially of n-3 PUFA profile.
