Sažetak
Body shape and size reached by an adult human being is the result of complex growth processes and development occurring in the first third of his/her life, during childhood and youth. Body growth as a dynamic process of changes is provided by anthropometry conducted in this paper as it tracks a group of children of different ages (transversal study). This paper describes the specificities of a sample of 6, 330 male and female children from childbirth to the age of 5.4 years. The sample is divided into 11 age groups, and 15 body measurements were taken. The investigation was implemented within the Croatian Anthropometric System (HAS) project in territory of the Republic of Croatia. The paper describes properties and measurement procedures. Analysis and results of the characteristic body measures of children are presented.
