Sažetak
It is known that learning of running technique is available to all age groups. In the age period from 6 to 8 higher level of running coordination is noticeable and therefore, more rational running technique is being more easily enhanced in that period. The main goal of this research is to determine the motor ability of endurance in 400 m running at preschool children, boys and girls aged 5 and 6. Partials goals of this research are to try to establish if there are differences between preschool boys and girls in achievements regarding the gender and age. Research was carried out on the sample of 176 subjects from which there were 72 girls and 104 boys. Basic descriptive parameters were calculated from the obtained results. Analysis of differences between certain sub samples in the variable 400 m running were tested by T-test for independent samples. From the conducted experiment and by the analyses of descriptive parameters it could be said that test of 400 m running is not contra indicated for tested subjects of both gender and ages of 5 and 6. Older children are more successful in running 400 m, boys are more successful than girls. This result could be explained by larger interest and needs of older children for more active play are enlarging which has for consequence influence on development of both motor and functional abilities.
