Sažetak
Within the framework of the current new economy, as declared and in some segments proven by Croatia as well, certain managerial tools have been developed and continue developing ; tools that form the basis for further development through various segments. Contemporary business systems use numerous tools, but among the most important ones there are three managerial concepts: balance scorecard, knowledge management and focus on intellectual capital. In accordance with the large capacity of a specific geographical region, there is a need to analyse the use of a managerial tool that would turn cultural, natural and other heritage into a competitive and recognisable product – brand. In the case of Croatia, i.e. for the possibility of branding some of its regions for their specificity, products or heritage, a quite simple managerial tool could be used. It is the “ knowledge café” that is applicable, in particular in certain draft solutions and innovations in terms of the development of tourism offerings. The unique objective of a knowledge cafe is to gather people and stimulate an open and creative discussion aimed at searching for their collective knowledge in order to exchange ideas and thus reach insight into the issues. Finally, the whole process should result in an action aimed at enhanced decision-making and innovations. Knowledge cafe is simply a managerial tool aimed at the generation of new ideas in a relaxed atmosphere – while sipping coffee or drinking juice. This paper follows the process and the development of possibilities arrived at by the use of various managerial tools.
