Sažetak
Having on one side groups dealing with knowledge discovery and data mining (KDDM) and on the other side with intelligent image feature extraction naturally yields synergistic effects. By mining results from mammographic image analysis and data from other non-image diagnostic results, it is possible to develop a new generation of computational tools and techniques that could prove to be efficient in computer aided diagnosis. Since KDDM is an iterative and interactive process in its nature, involving medical practitioners as domain experts will give an extra insight and increase the overall quality of any approach. This presentation will give an overview of some examples of work being done in this area, and additionally give some guidelines and possibilities of further inter-group collaboration.
