Sažetak
Gas platform Ivana A was built in 1999. Very soon after the installation on submerged parts of the platform a usual fouling community was established. Monitoring the environmental impact of the platform on the fouling community and of fouling community on the platform in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2008 we noticed that a succession took place in the fouling community. Registering the natural processes that have been going on at submerged parts of the platform we noted that the platform is having a positive impact on the living organisms around it: fish, marine birds, sea turtles and marine mammals. The platform actually acts as an artificial reef and by that it positively contributes to the biodiversity of the Northern Adriatic.
