Sažetak
In this paper a simple mechanical model is proposed capable of describing nonlinear tensile characteristics of fabric. Deformational behaviour at the basic cell level is modelled so that a limited set of parameters can represent the influence of basic factors to nonlinear deformation of fabric in tension. A three parameter model is considered in which the tensile and flexural stiffnesses of yarn are taken into acount along with the initial geometry of the basic cell. Assuming linear deformational behaviour of the yarn, nonlinear tensile response of fabric is computed considering large displacements in the changes of basic cell geometry. An incremental procedure of tracing the nonlinear tensile response is applied. Families of nonlinear theoretical tensile curves are constructed consistent with variations of individual parameters.
