Sažetak
In this paper, a comparative analysis of new materials – glass and basalt, which are used for advanced technical woven fabrics, has been made. Basic properties of new above mentioned fibres are described. Likewise, a correlation of physical mechanical properties between two kinds of yarns is given, i.e. for the yarn before and after weaving. The testing results of physical mechanical properties are also correlated, and the influence of yarn properties of fabrics properties is investigated. Using a scientific approach, a better understanding of the influence of technical fabric construction on composite properties will be achieved. Specific conclusions of experimental results are given with emphasis on new material properties, regarding high demands and their wide use.
