Sažetak
The onset of the binary reaction channel in central heavy-ion collisions between light and moderately heavy nuclei is investigated within the Landau-Vlasov semiclassical transport model. It displays a regular dependence on the value of the in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross section. This feature is intimately related to the effective nucleon mean free path in nuclear matter which is, in turn, around the Fermi energy essentially governed by the Pauli blocking of hard collisions. The threshold energy of the binary process could be a right observable to determine the value of the nucleon-nucleon cross section in nuclear medium.
