Sažetak
The comfort is essentially a subjective response, or state of mind where a person expresses satisfaction with the environment. It may partially be influenced by a variety of cultural factors, but it is primarly a result of the body's heat exchange with the environment. In such relations, the textile plays an important role of a barrier that affects the rate of heat and water vapour transport. The paper discusses the processes that appear in the human-textile-environment interaction and gives a model of the parameters influencing the human thermophysiological comfort. The experimental measurement of knitted fabric heat and water vapour resistance, that affect the thermophysiological comfort, has been carried out using the sweating guarded hotplate. A range of knitted fabrics has been used for the measurement. The fabrics are mainly used for the production of next-to-skin wear and they differ in raw material and yarn parameters. The results have indicated that among the fabric parameters, the fabric modulus, cover factor, mass per unit area and porosity have biggest influence to the heat resistance, while the horizontal density and thickness have biggest influence to the water vapour resistance. From the yarn parameters that affect the transfer properties, the yarn count, thickness and variation of yarn mass should be pointed out.
