Sažetak
European Corn Borer (Ostrinia nubilalis Hübner) is a pest, which is constantly present at our cornfield. In our region of East Slavonia average intensity of attack in last 25 years (1971-1996) was 37,08%. Although ECB is present every year, with no such a low intensity, their control is not implemented. Corn is sown as one-crop at 40% of cornfield, which also has influence on spreading of ECB.
The aim of investigation was to control ECB with biological preparation Biobit XL. The trials were carried out on Decalb hybrid, in five repetitions. Biobit XL (on the base of Bacillus thuringiensis) was used in dose of 3l/ha in three different or time of applying.Frst tretmant was carried out at the beginning of July, second at the beginning and at the end of July, and third just on the end of July. Intensity of attack on untreated field was 83%, while in first treatment with Biobit intensity of attack was 53%, in second treatment 37% and the third treatment intensity of attack was 35%. Using Biobit XL intensity of attack of ECB was lower, as well as number of holes and larvae. Also length of damage was lower and all of that shows us a possibility of control ECB with preparation Biobit XL which is totally ecological acceptable.
