Sažetak
This paper presents a solution for voltage control of a self-excited brushless
synchronous generator with a new current sink. Generator voltage control is obtained
by subtracting exciter excitation current via a current sink. The voltage control system
has two feedback loops: main and "inner". The main one is generator voltage based
and the inner one is exciter excitation current based. The new current sink is capable
of achieving changes of exciter excitation current in a much wider range (practically
from zero to maximum). Besides general characteristics of self-excited compounding
unit and a new current sink; we obtain voltage control system responses for loading or
unloading a synchronous generator.
