Sažetak
Since there is no perfect seal form leaking, it is expected that some oil can penetrate marine propulsion system and contaminate seawater. In that case ecology problems can arise [1]. Oil leakage can cause alarms in engine room too late [2], when there is an excessive amount of oil lost or cause false alarms indicating that engine is not working properly. We proposed a system for monitoring of small quantities of oil appearance in the area they are not supposed to be. Wavelets are used for detection of movement. Since, there should not be a movement in the monitoring area, any movement (caused by oil or seawater) can be easily detected and alarm can be triggered. Additional problem in such a system is also camera vibration due to engine operation, which is compensated by temporal averaging in 3D separate wavelet transform. Since storage of the continuous video material requires a large storage capacity, it is practical to compress the data by wavelets. Since the vibrations of the camera, because of the engines operation, causes virtual motion (parts of the scene are captured at different location of the acquired image), this effect causes false alarms. Therefore it is important to reduce or eliminate these false alarms. Reduction of such virtual motion is performed using 2D+T DWT [3].
