Sažetak
The insulation co-ordination of the new 400 kV substation Žerjavinec, near Zagreb is considered. Computer simulations of lightning and switching overvoltages are conducted. The probability of shielding failure on transmission lines are estimated. The close range stroke in the phase condustor is simulated with two elektromagnetic transients programs: WA493 and EMTP-ATP, and the good correspodence of their results is obtained. The additional arrester on the incoming line is necessary baside the arrester near the transformer in order to obtain a safe protection of the equipment in substation. Switching overvoltages do not exceed the insulation level of the substation equipment.
