Sažetak
Project Prevention of behavior disorders in the local community has been conducted by the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences of the University of Zagreb and the County of Istria Administrative Department for Health and Social Welfare from the year 2002. Project follows six main phases: Creating the team of coordinators, Needs assessment, Resource assessment, Identification of priorities, Development, implementation and evaluation of available/new prevention programs and Model evaluation. In this poster process and results of phase Resource assessment will be presented. The aim of that phase was to review all available resources for prevention on localities. All resources that are directed at children and their families as well as all available prevention programs were described. Results of this work were (1) listing of institutional resources for children, youth and families in County of Istria, (2) collection and description of 39 programs for children, youth and families. More in detail, 14 positive development programs, 15 prevention programs, 4 counseling centers and 6 programs in category “ other” were described. List and analysis of resources in community showed that on localities, in addition to national services (welfare centers, courts, police, healthy institutions, institutions of education, and administrations) as regular services, act Healthy Cities, Red Cross (on town level) and Society “ Our children” . Beside mentioned, resources are evident in many religious organizations and media. Activities of those resources, regarding preventive work, are in ownership of 26 from 39 collected programs. On other hand and regarding the prevention programs, there is lack of program effectiveness evaluation in every program and therefore that is the biggest challenge for all programs. Further step on the County level will be investment in program development following the criteria of effective prevention programs in order to gain level of evidence-based programs. Furthermore, described process is the beginning of creating data base of prevention programs on County level, as well as national level.
