Sažetak
Palatal fistulae or defects are not common complications seen after primary cleft palate repair. The use of tongue is recommended for large palatal defect closure. We have used this flap in 28 patient, aged 9 to 30 years. One patient had partial marginal necrosis after division of the pedicle, another complete necrosis of the distal part of the flap and third division of the flap. Our experience showed that the parameters for success include sufficient lenght of the flap (5-6 cm), a flap with somewhat larger than the defect and a flap thickness of aproximately 0, 5 cm (2-4 mm of the muscle).
