Sažetak
Addition of limestone to cement has been contested for a long time, arguing that it disturbed concrete durability features. However, the latest researches carried out worldwide confute those arguments. Nevertheless the Croatian constructors are still very cautious and avoid preparation of concrete with cement containing limestone. Due to the above-mentioned the first step in researches conducted here referred to the investigation of impact of adding limestone to cement. The paper presents experimental researches investigating the impact of limestone fineness and the procedure of adding limestone in cement production. The results have been used in the preparation of the ternary blended cement containing limestone, and its contribution has been established in the volume filling of pores of completed concrete product with improved resistance to fluid penetration, namely the decrease of gas permeability and increase of resistance to penetration of chloride ions.
