Sažetak
Expert System for Voltage And Reactive Power Control (ESVARPC) was developed to help in the operator decision making connected with var regulation. The program detects buses experiencing abnormal conditions, calculates system state on the bases of which it selects the most effective control measures and actions to overcome the voltage violations, investigates selected regulation performance in the new condition of the system, marking overloading lines in the system, signals system topology etc. The paper describes theoretical rules used in the development of the ESVARPC, utilising a methodology called sensitivity tree and electrical distances. The control tools used to alleviate the voltage violations are capacitors, the change of transformer tap position and generators terminal voltage. The ESVARPC was tested on a modified IEEE 30 - bus system and on a part of the 30 kV network of the electric power system of Croatia and has shown satisfactory results.
