Sažetak
Subject of research is the role of civil organisations in Croatia, their activities, structures and development, as well as their influence on social and spatial changes. The ways in which organisations of civil society (civil organisations), as a type of actors in space, through their actions and interaction with other actors that will be identified, try to affect the creation of sociocultural structures, use of space and functioning of the local community will be defined. It is a part of the project "Actors of social changes in space", 2007. The study shows that the position of civil organisations in the society is better than it was a short time ago, but it also raises a question whether their position is truly better, or media helped their recognizability. It also shows the inability of all actors to play an equal part, which confirms the hierarchy of actors and unequal distribution of power, which was the study hypothesis. The case of Flower Square is just one of the cases characteristic for transitional societies in general and for Croatia as well. It is a typical example of usurping the space for all kinds of private interests in connection with capital.
