Sažetak
The voltage control of a power system is usually organised in tree levels: primary, secondary and tertiary, which concern distinct geographical areas and time constants. In Bosnian Electric Power Utility (EP BIH), only primary level is automatised and in function. Inastallation of the automatic secondary VAR control in the system is nowadays the topic of intesive investigations. Proper operation of this control presupposes the possibility of dividing the power network into uncoupled zones and of choosing pilot nodes (descriptive nodes or nodes of the best reprensentation of the networks part in view of voltage conditions). This paper presents an approach to selection of pilot nodes and the definition of automatic secondary VAR control zones. There is not generally acceptable theoretical algorithm for solving of this task, so heuristic and experience should be involved. The definition of control zones, in this paper, is based on network partition using sysytem matrix (reduced Jacobian matrix of loadflow model) and weak coupling criterion between network nodes. The method, with necessary procedure for defining the borders of control zones, is explained in the paper. The selection of pilot nodes is based on ranking nodes, in each defined zone, according to decreasing three phase fault current. The described method has been applied to the electric power system of Bosnian Electric Power Utility and the results obtained are presented.
