Sažetak
Aims of the Study The suture anchor can migrate and become loose in the osteoporotic bone. This problem could be improved with transsoseus suture. Aim of the study is to present early results of arthroscopic footprint reconstruction using transosseous suture anchor technique for rotator cuff repairs. Material and Methods Forty one patients were operated using arthroscopic transosseous suture anchor technique. There were 22 men and 19 women with average age of 56 years. An average follow up was 20 months (12 to 36 months). All patients were evaluated using Constant score. Results All patients were satisfied with postoperative results. An average Constant score was 86 points. The size of tears were Bernageau type I or II. There were several suture breakages in the beginning using metal anchor and Ethibond suture. There was no postoperative complications. Discussion / Conclusion This technique enables a surgeon to re-establish the rotator cuff footprint and therefore improve healing and mechanical strength of repaired tendons. This technique can be used for open, mini- open and arthroscopic cuff repair. Early results show favorable clinical outcome and call for further evaluation.
